    2. Ms Moore was my school teacher at Fork Mountain many years ago. She was a good teacher. Just was wondering if she was others on the lists, teacher. MOORE, GRACE RICE - age 94, a resident of Oliver Springs, died Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Mrs. Moore was born March 24, 1913 in Morgan County, Kentucky. She moved from Kentucky to Tennessee in 1939. After moving to Tennessee she began working as a teacher for the Anderson County Board of Education. She first taught from 1942 until 1945. She then went to work for the Department Of Energy at the K-25 Plant where she obtained a three way badge in the Leak Chest area. She later taught at Fork Mountain, Buffalo, Moores and Rosedale Schools all of New River. In 1953 she began teaching at the Norwood Elementary School where she continued until 1978, leaving to care for her husband who was ill. Following the death of her husband, Logan Wesley Moore in 1982 she again started teaching in 1983 and taught until 1988. During her teaching career, she also worked evenings and weekends at J.C. Penny's in Oak Ridge. Following her teaching career she was employed at Hallmark Enterprises in Oliver Springs for 16 years. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: son, Kenneth Moore; foster son, Lawrence Green; parents, Elijah and Mary Rebecca Allison Rice. Survivors: daughter, Betty Jo Hall and husband John of Oliver Springs; grandchildren, Kenneth Steven Hall of Oak Ridge, Barry Michael Hall and wife Jackie of Knoxville, Thomas Moore of Atlanta, GA, Sandra Grace Sullins of Arkansas; great grandchildren, Wesley Hall and Stefanie Hall, both of Oak Ridge; special niece, Dr. Mary Margaret Anderson of Leesburg, FL. She is also survived by a host of extended family members and a great number of students of whom she considered as her own children. Graveside services and burial will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Anderson Memorial Gardens with Dr. Billy Edmonds officiating. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
