Mrs Ward was a member of the Stainville Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband; Finley Ward; and three children, Mrs Ida Chambers of Knoxville, Mrs Polly Edmonds of Atlanta, and Lee Ward of Petros. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 PM at Grave Hill. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rev Mr Phillips and the Rev Mr Watson officiated. Holley Funeral Home was in charge. She had been a patient at the Lake City Nursing Home for several months. Mrs Hawkins was a member of Grave Hill Baptist Church. He stated that he was born in 1888, a ten year discrepancy (younger) from his tombstone and census records. Clinton Courier News - May 27, 1971 Death has taken the Rev Isaac Aslinger at the golden age of 92. The old-fashioned Baptist preacher died early Monday morning at Lake City Hospital. His home was in the Cumberland Mountains on State Highway 116 at Briceville Rt 1 in North Anderson County. Aslinger, who has been married five times, leaves seven children, 23 grandchildren, and a number of great grandchildren. In October of 1969, Aslinger was featured in the Clinton Courier-News for being in good health and active at 91. Aslinger was born at New River in this county and mined coal at Southern Collieries Inc at Beech Grove. Services were at 2 PM Wednesday at Laurel Branch Baptist Church with the Rev Guy Lively and the Rev O S Dugger officiating. Burial was in the Pine Hill Cemetery west of Lake City. Mr Roysden's home was on Lynn Rd in South Clinton. He had been residing with his son, Russell Roysden, on Possum Hollow Rd for the past year because of his health. Mr Roysden was a coal miner for most of his working life. He was ordained a Baptist minister in the late 1930s and pastor of Grave Hill Baptist Church in the New River area and Free Communion Baptist Church at Charley's Branch. He retired in 1965. He is survived by his wife; Mrs Rosa M Roysden; three sons, Clais Roysden of Clinton, Eli Roysden of Oliver Springs, and Russell Roysden of Clinton, Rt 5; a step-son, Lester Ward of Wartburg; six sisters, Mrs Florence Massey of Winchester, IN, Mrs Nancy Simmons of Jellico, Mrs Mae Hoskins of Brewster ,Ohio, Mrs Ollie Roysden of Detroit, Mrs Linda Byrge of Kentucky, and Mrs Emily Burress of Briceville; three brothers, Tom Roysden of Maryville, Henry Roysden and Charlie Roysden, both of Oliver Springs.
