Clinton Courier March 12, 1970 Bolton Son Of Former Sheriff Dies Claude Bolton, 46, of 120 Lancing Rd, Oak Ridge, son of the late L.W. Bolton, Anderson County Sheriff from 1944 to 1946, died at 9:45 p.m. Friday at Oak Ridge Hospital. He had been in the hospital only one day. Bolton went to school in Knoxville before the family moved to Campbell County and then Anderson County and he was still a member of Black Oak Heights Baptist Church in Knoxville. At the time of this death he had been for 25 years a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 102 in Knoxville. Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Martin's Chapel in Clinton with the Rev. Jimmy Riner officiating. Burial was in Foust Cemetery. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Daphine Vowell Bolton, three daughters, Mrs. Beverly Brown of Atlanta, Mrs. Kay Ashe of Knoxville, and Miss. Judy Bolton of Oak Ridge, mother, Mrs. L.W. Bolton of South Clinton on Ridgeview Drive, six brothers, Warren Bolton of Knoxville, John Bolton, L.W. Bolton Jr., Farnk, Jimmy Bolton and David Bolton, all of Manassas,Va., two sisters, Mrs. Alleen Wise and Mrs. Betty Chihocky, both of Manassas,Va.
