Clinton Courier May 23, 1963 Brick Mason Dies Friday At His Home Charlie J. Butcher, 78, a native of Anderson County, died Friday afternoon at his home in Clinton. Funeral services for the well known brickmason were Sunday at 2 p.m. at Martin's Funeral Home Chapel, Clinton, with the Rev. George Gilbert officiating.Burial was in Sunset Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Willie Butcher, sons, Carl A. Butcher, Lafollette, C.J. Butcher Jr., Clinton, daughters, Mrs. Virginia McHan, Whitter,N.C. Mrs. Armistine Shepherd,Knoxville, brother, Claude Butcher, Clinton, sister, Mrs. Hattie Watkins, Clinton, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
