She was born in Lake City on Dec 2, 1912 to Frank and Minnie Mae Gibbs McMillan. Miss McMillan previously worked at the Village Restaurant in Oak Ridge and at Miller's Restaurant in Clinton. She was a member of Poplar Creek Baptist Church of Clinton. She enjoyed cooking and growing flowers, according to her family. Miss McMillan is survived by a sister; Geneva Housley, of Lake City; and a cousin, Bobby Long, and his wife, Sue, of Clinton. Her brother; Clyde McMillan, died in June 1988; and her half-brother, Carl "Jargo" McMillan, also died earlier. The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, May 12, in the chapel at Weatherford Mortuary, with the Rev Bill Dawson and the Rev Homer Hooks officiating. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, May 13, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Weatherford Mortuary. She is survived by her sons; James and Pearl Riggs, Lake City, Wendell and Shirley Riggs, Lake City, Jerry and Doris Riggs, LaFollette; daughter, Violet and Bill Sharp, Lake City; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were July 19 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Bro Ron Williams, Bro David Triplett, and Bro Wesley Riggs officiating. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
