PIGEON, ROBERT FRANCES - age 73, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 2, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospice in Knoxville, Tennessee, with loving wife Peggy by his side. They had shared 24 years of marriage together. He was born on September 29, 1934 in Oconto, WI. and was raised in Ontonagon, MI. and was the son of the late Francis C. Pigeon and Ilse E. Schluenz. Robert served in the US Air Force from 1952-1956. He took academic degrees at Gogebic Community College, Ironwood, MI., Stephen F. Austin University, Nacogdoches, TX., and Texas A & M University, College Station, TX. He joined the Atomic Energy Commission in August 1961 and worked with the Technical Information Group in Washington, DC. and then OSTI in Oak Ridge, TN. He retired on May 27, 1982. For the next several years, he worked as a consulting Nuclear Licensing Engineer at several nuclear stations in AZ., MO., NY., IL., TN. and SC. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Clinton, the Pellissippi Genealogical and Historical Society and the National Rifle Association. Besides his wife, he is survived by daughters: Elizabeth M. (Darren) Morgan of Walkersville, MD., Shannon B. (Patrick) O'Grady of Colorado Springs, CO., and Heather F. (William) White of Smyrna, TN..; stepchildren: Kimberly A. (Steve) Hatfield of Lewis Center, OH., Ruby D. Faulkner of Oak Ridge, TN., and Samuel D. McLane of Clinton, TN.; grandchildren: Trey, Spencer, and Joey McLane of Clinton, TN., Katie Bowling of Lubbock, TX., Jeffrey Bowling. Jr. of Stephensville, TX., Jonathan McLane of Tucson, AZ., Stevie Hatfield of Lewis Center, OH.; great-grandchild: Alyssa Anne McLane of Tucson, AZ.; stepmother, Mary Pigeon of Ontonagon, MI.; stepsisters, Pauline (James) Soyka of Fowler, MI., Suzi D. Picotte of Mesa, AZ.; nieces and nephews: Roland (Barbara) Soyka of Fenton, MD., Connie (Dennis) Gibbs of Millington, MD, David (Marsha) Soyka of Cascade, CO, Nanette (Randy) Frechen of Fowler, MD., Lance (Melissa) Picotte of Escondido, CA., Michael (Kelly) Picotte of Suffolk, VA., and Mary (Jay) Prosch of Port Huememe, CA. Remembering special friends: Jesse Baker, Guenter Breede, Peter Linton, Bob Parish; niece, Melinda Rosell, Jim Valentine, and PrimeTime XYZ.
