(RUSTY) - age 76 of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, December 7. 2004. He served in the U. S. Air Force. Rusty retired from Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge. He was a former employee of Yale Security. He was a member of Ft. Loudon Coin Club. Preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Bailey; parents, Frank and Mary Bailey; brothers, Orville and Robert Bailey; sisters, Geneva Hayworth and Faye Walker; special friend, Rosemary Hodge. He was employed at Wackenhut K-25/Oak Ridge, Tennessee for 27 years. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served two tours in Vietnam in the Military Police Unit. He belonged to the Atomic City Sportsmen's Club, East Tennessee Pinochle Club and Fraternal Order of Police, TN State Lodge. He was a faithful member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church. DICKSON, ARIS - age 86, of Clinton, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at his residence. He was born October 12, 1918 in Cherokee County, Texas. He was an avid gardener, hunter, & fisherman. He preceded in death by: his wife, Edna Myrl Hancock Dickson; parents, James Frank & Birdie Dickson; sisters, Almer Skinner & Neil Williams; brother, Ralph Dickson. Survivors: children, Billie T. GOODE, EARL ESTES, JR. - age 81, passed away at home on December 6, 2004, with his family at side. He had fought a courageous battle with cancer for four years because he loved life and his family. He was born in Brinkley Arkansas on May 19, 1923. His parents, Earl Sr. and Nancy Goode are both deceased. Earl loved his country and was a veteran of World War II. He served in the Navy in the Pacific Rim as a Sonar Specialist on a PC1129 naval escort ship. His ship was sunk by a Japanese suicide boat on January 31, 1945, the same day which World War II history indicates our American prisoners were freed from the Japanese prison camps. Mr. Goode graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Industrial Management and began his forty one year career working at the Department of Energy facilities in Oak Ridge for Union Carbide and Martin Marietta. He was initially employed at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and transferred after three years to the Y-12 Plant. He supervised various groups at Y-12 including Cash, Travel, and Timekeeping and Facilities Management and Shipping and Receiving. Earl was a skilled photographer, gardener and animal lover. He also took great pleasure in coaching church league girls basketball teams and in supporting his wife, Pat, and her high school varsity volleyball and track teams at Karns High School. He was also very active in the foundation of the Oak Ridge Camp Fire Girls camps and programs. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Jarvis Goode of Oak Ridge, TN; daughters, Judy Jones and husband Steve of Gatlinburg, TN and Jill Goode Freeman and her husband Mark of Lexington, KY; grandson Don Frederick and wife Hilari; granddaughter Lauren Freeman; great grandson Forrest Frederick. At Earl's request he was cremated. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 10, 2004 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1051 Oak Ridge Turnpike in Oak Ridge with Pastor Kerra Becker English officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 - 6 p.m. with the Memorial Service immediately following. Mr. Relford attended the Church of God of Prophesy in Clinton. He loved hanging out at the Scot Station in Lake City. He was preceded in death by daughter, Darlene Gilliam, son, W.C. Seiber, grandson, David Todd Harness, parents, Jonathan and Mossie Bullock Relford, brother, Clarence Relford, sisters, Dorothy Caylor and Ethel Relford. STOOKSBURY, DELBERT D. - age 80 of Andersonville, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2004. He was of the Baptist Faith receiving Christ when he was a young boy. He served in WWII in Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland central Europe under General Patton. He received the American Theater Campaign Medal, Eamet Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal A.R. 600 - 68, Bronze Star Medal A.R. 600 - 45, Victory Medal and received a letter of recognition signed by Harry S. Truman. Delbert was a master carpenter and mason having built homes and barns throughout east Tennessee. He was preceded in death by: parents, Ruben and Cleo Stout Stooksbury; brothers, James, Leon and Verlen (Jake); and sister, Earcel D. Mynatt. Survived by: son and daughter-in-law, James and Rhonda; grandchildren, Gabe, Jennifer, Kali, Katlyn, Kasi, Jayci, and Stacy; great granddaughters, Savannah, Kelly and Jenifer; sisters, Letha Henegar, Cleveland, TN, and Trula Oaks, Knoxville, TN; brother, Carl Stooksbury, Texas.
