She was a manager at Food City-Powell, and a member of the Oliver Springs First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Mead. A retired school teacher, Elaine moved to Oak Ridge in 1944 when husband Raymond went to work at Y-12 and later at ORNL. After his retirement they enjoyed many happy years spending time with family and friends at Watts Bar Lake. NAKWON - a Knoxville resident for more than 35 years, passed away on Dec. 16, 2004, in Memphis. He was 69. He worked in Oak Ridge at Union Carbide for 25 years before starting his own research company, Electro Nucleonics. Mr. Cho also taught at Oak Ridge National Laboratory throughout his career. The owner of 11 patents, Mr. Cho spent the last part of his career in medical research and was a longtime member and a past president of the Kiwanis Club in Knoxville. She died peacefully at her son's home in Knoxville, with family members present. Mrs. Weinberg was born February 4, 1917 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Kellerman. Following her graduation as Valedictorian of Hallahan High School, she attended Rosemont College, where she was awarded degrees in art history and chemistry. She came to Oak Ridge with her first husband, the late Dr. John DePersio. In the 1960s she trained as a stockbroker, later becoming the head of the Oak Ridge PaineWebber office. She was the first woman nationwide to hold such a position for the brokerage firm, and many in the area benefited from her financial advice. Following her marriage to Dr. Alvin Weinberg, former director of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, in September, 1974, she resumed her interest in painting, and became active at the Oak Ridge Community Art Center; her watercolors were displayed at exhibitions there. She and her husband enjoyed the cultural offerings of Oak Ridge, and also traveled widely. She was an ardent golfer and tennis player, winning several handicap tournaments in both sports. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Weinberg is survived by: her sister, Dorothy Drew and her husband Mortimer Drew of Mt. He was retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He attended the University of Tennessee and was a veteran of the Army in WWII. While in LaFollette, he and his family were active in the First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. In California he was a member of Menlo Park Presbyterian Church, where his memorial service was held on November 23, 2004. He served for many years as a volunteer at the church's Saturday morning Men's Bible Study attended by 200 plus men. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Mickey; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew J. Heatherly; brother, Eugene; and sisters, Irene and Aileen Heatherly of Jacksboro. He retired from Martin Marietta in 1987. Kenneth built several churches in the Roane County area. He was also an electrician, TV repairman, plumber, mechanic and an "all around handy man".
