She was born May 4, 1926 in McVeigh, Kentucky. Survivors: beloved wife of Martin E. Duncan; dear mother of, Michael David Ducan of Bourbonnais, IL, Deborah L. Sisk and Larry E. & wife Mary Jo Duncan both of Schererville, IN; cherished grandmother of, William G. Sisk U.S.N., Matthew T. Sisk U.S.N., Rebecca Leigh Smith; great grandmother, Valerie Michelle Sisk; twin sister of the late Rachel Harlow and Stuart Aston Harlow. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Horace, sons, Horace Junior & Clayton, daughter, Juanita. Member of West LaFollette Baptist Church. GRANT, HELEN BULLOCK - age 77 of LaFollette, passed away on Christmas Day 2004, surrounded by her family at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a member of Demory Baptist Church. She as a charter member of Stooksbury Eastern Star Lodge #602. Mrs. Grant was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and devoted friend to many who knew her. Mrs. Grant and her husband Paris Bullock were owner and operator of Bullocks Laundry and Dry Cleaners for 36 years. Preceded in death by: husbands, Paris Bullock & Lloyd Grant; parents, E.L. & Emily Jane Boshears Morton; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Mrs. Owens was a loving wife, mother & dedicated grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family & friends. She also was a friend to all who knew her. Preceded in death by: a brother, Brian Murray. Awaiting her arrival were: her loving husband of 69 years, Tom Sawyer; son, James Sawyer; infant son; grandson, Michael Sawyer; parents, William M. & Eliza Walker; and several sisters and brothers. She was born November 10, 1911 and was a member of Hillvale Baptist Church. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at a young age and shared her testimony with many people. She loved to cook and take care of her family. DIMLER, SELMA L. FERGUSON - went to her Heavenly Home the morning of Dec. 27, 2004 after a brief illness. She was a member of Dante Baptist. Church. She ran the Federal Bake Shop in Oak Ridge for 20 years and then worked as a Master Cake Decorator for Millers Dept. Store. Resident of Oak Ridge for 40 years, the last year lived at Lakebrook West Asst. Living where she was given such wonderful care. She leaves to celebrate her home going: her loving sister, Janie Severs; niece, Carol Sandberg; great nephew, Shaun Cain; great niece, Bobbie Butler, great nephew, Rusty Rhodes of San Diego, Ca.; niece, Sharon Rhodes of Wewonka, Okl; great great nephew, Jacob Rhodes of San Diego, Ca. PHILLIPS, RAY V. - age 60 of Knoxville, died Saturday, December 25, 2004 at Parkwest Hospital. He was a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church, the American Legion Post # 126 and the Elk's Lodge. Ray was a graduate of Bearden High School in 1961 and a United States Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by: his father, Virgil Phillips; and brothers, Rod and Bill Ed Phillips. Ray is survived by: his loving wife, Jan H. Phillips; and devoted son, Jason Mitchell Phillips; a very special and loving uncle and aunt, Judge Joe and Lou Duncan; and cousin, Philip Duncan who was like a brother. Ray is also survived by: his mother, Evelyn Staedelin and her husband Joe; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Dan Truskowski; and brother, Joe Philips; sister-in-law, Bonnie Phillips; and aunt, Eloise Fisher; and uncle, Gordon Pemberton; and a host of many other nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members to numerous to count. The family would like to specially thank Dr. Mitchell Martin and his staff at the Tennessee Cancer Care Specialist Center, the fourth floor, North Staff of Ft. Sanders Parkwest Medical Center and Dr. Lance Moorehead for all their care and support to Ray and his entire family during his illness. A memorial service will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Rev. Dr. Tim Erskine officiating. Interment will be private at the Duncan Family Cemetery in Scott County.
