Hi John, My 2nd great grandfather was Enoch Richmond Capps. He was born in NC & married Mary M Goad. Their children were: Rose, Laura Alice, Alfred M, William Lewis, Samuel Aaron, John , Benjamin, Henry A, Sylvanus, Flora Emeline, Pearl Mae, Paul L, George Edward & Hattie Ellen. I do not see a George Sterling. Do any of the above names ring a bell? Hi Sandra, A lot of the Capps family still live around Paulette in Union County. They married into the Johnson, Mitchell, Beals/Bales, Butcher and Turner lines. Sorry I didn't retain records on The CAPPS when I was going through the records at Maynardville Court House. If you live close by to the area, the folks at the Court House will bend over backwards to assist you (or they would back the last time I was there in 1998).
