Sam Diggs and Leppy Scarboro, while intoxicated, went to the drugstore of Frank Chapman, at Oliver Springs, Anderson County, Tenn., Wednesday and asked for "ginger ale". Chapman refused to sell it and in a fight which followed was shot through the head and instantly killed by Diggs.
