Charges Dropped Against Three Boys KNOXVILLE, Tenn., May 22 (UP) Manslaughter charges against two youths were dropped today when their former scoutmaster whose three-year-old son was killed by a rifle bullet told the city judge tearfully, "they didn't mean to do it." After the judge dismissed the charges, John Leinart, sr., placed his arms around the two boys and the three left the courtroom together. The lad was shot fatally as the two older boys fired a small rifle at tin cans. Reno Evening Gazette, Reno, Nevada, May 22, 1942
