    2. >From The Oak Ridger 10 Sep 2007 Martha L. Bowling, age 71, of Oliver Springs, Mattie Robinson Marlar, 86, of Murphy, N.C. James W. McNeely Sr., age 78, of Harriman, Robert A. Morrow, age 86, a resident of Oliver Springs, Lilly Victoria Rust, Martha L. Bowling, age 71, of Oliver Springs, passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of Frost Bottom Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, working puzzles and had a great love for animals. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Marie Bowling, and brothers, Bill and Elmer Harness. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Bowling of Oliver Springs, and Shirley Anderson and husband Gary of Oliver Springs; grandson, Khristian Anderson of Oliver Springs; sister, Allene Rainey of Oliver Springs; niece, Angela McLain and husband Scott of Knoxville; nephews, Ricky Harness and Darrell Harness and wife Amanda; four special great-nieces and great-nephews, Olivia and Harrison McLain, and Payton and Jake Harness; special friends, Lois and David Freels of Wartburg, Ruth Prows of Wartburg, Rebecca Walker of Oak Ridge, Paul Frick of Coalfield, Misty Duncan of Clinton, and Bertha Hawkins of Briceville; and many other family members and friends. The family received friends Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jackson-Oliver Mortuary in Oliver Springs. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Paul Frick and Brother Lonnie Dison officiating. Interment will follow in Anderson Memorial Gardens. Darrell Harness, Khristian Anderson, Scott McLain, Gary Anderson, Zandy Knox, and Brian Vinson will serve as pallbearers. Jackson-Oliver Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Mattie Robinson Marlar, 86, of Murphy, N.C., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, after a long illness with Alzheimer's disease. Born Aug. 24, 1921, in Walker Switch, Miss., she was one of 11 children born to Alfred T. and Nolar Robinson. She and her husband, R.G. Marlar, moved to Oak Ridge in the early 1940s. She was a longtime employee of the Y-12 Plant in tube assembly. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Mrs. Marlar is survived by her sons, Ronald G. Marlar of Sanford, Fla., and Bobby D. Marlar of N.C.; three grandsons, Robert G. Marlar of Manassas, Va., Joseph A. Marlar of Atlanta, Ga., and Josh Marlar of Corinth, Miss.; and two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Nicholas, both of Manassas. She is also survived by a brother, John Robinson of Iuka, Miss.; and two sisters, Grace Floyd of Tupelo, Miss., and Emily Scruggs of Corinth, Miss.; several nieces and nephews. The family received friends from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at Woodhaven Funeral Home in Claxton. Interment followed at 1 p.m. at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens with the Rev Bobby Mullins officiating. In lieu of flowers and in celebration of Mrs. Marlar's life, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., FL 17, Chicago, IL 60601. McNeely Sr., age 78, of Harriman, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, in Harriman Care and Rehabilitation Center. He grew up in Tuscola, Ill., and moved to this area with his wife in the early 1990s. He worked as a machine operator for PPG Glass. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie McNeely; parents, Ralph Thomas and Mary Ethel Petty McNeely; and sister, Myrtle Tudor. He is survived by his children, James W. McNeely Jr. and wife Cheryl, and Paul Thomas McNeely and wife Becky, all of Illinois; and Diana Aufrecht and husband Mark of Virginia. He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara Woltman and husband Richard of Rockwood, and Frances Whightsil and husband Bob of Sadorus, Ill., as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other family members and friends. In honor of Mr. McNeely's wishes, no services will be held. Jackson-Oliver Mortuary in Oliver Springs is in charge of arrangements. Robert A. Morrow, age 86, a resident of Oliver Springs, died Friday, September 7, 2007, at Park West Medical Center in Knoxville. Mr. Morrow was born July 29, 1921, in Collinwood, Tenn. He moved to Kingston in 1940 and moved to Oliver Springs in 1948. Robert was a United States Army veteran who served his country during World War II receiving four bronze stars and various other ribbons and accommodations for combat duty. Mr. Morrow was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. However, he attended Kellytown Baptist Church. He was well-known in this area as a cabinet maker and experienced woodworker. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Barbara Sue Morrow, by his parents, Ernest Morrow and Christine Murdock Morrow, by his stepmother, Merle Morrow, by two sisters, Margaret Neal Carpenter and Dorothy Eloise Long, and by a brother, Fred Morrow. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mollie Morrow of Oliver Springs; his brother, Marvin Morrow and wife Connie of Cypress Inn, Tenn., and his sisters, Emma Henderson and husband Doug of Middleton, Tenn., and Wilton Brown and husband Delbert of Florence, Ala. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and several special friends. The family received friends Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. Funeral services followed at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mack Smith and the Rev. Matt Reed officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Roane Memorial Gardens. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Her mother, Amanda, was induced and Lilly was delivered silently at 28 weeks gestation on Sept. 6, 2007. She is survived by her parents, Joshua and Amanda Thornton Rust of Oak Ridge; grandmothers, Lisa Lewellyn and husband Jeff of Oak Ridge, and Brenda Rust of Knoxville; uncle, Joshua Lewellyn of Oak Ridge; aunts, Kimberly Miles of Oak Ridge, and Kelsey Rust of Knoxville; cousin Austin Winnall of Oak Ridge, and great-grandparents, Jack and Patsy Melton of Oliver Springs, and Betty Thornton of Coalfield. Lilly is joined in heaven by two of her grandparents, Richard Thornton and Paul Rust, and great-grandfather, Carl Thornton. Together they are all in heaven holding hands and smiling down on the loved ones they will soon be united with. Services will be private.
