Clinton Courier News April 2, 2007 Grover Maggard March 31, 2007 Grover Maggard, 70, Clinton,formerly of New River, died Saturday, March 31, 2007, at his residence after an extended battle with cancer. Grover was a truck driver for many years. He attended Charity Baptist Church in Clinton before his illness.Grover was blessed with three special families in his lifetime. Preceded in death by; Parents, Bradley and Hattie Maggard, son, Billy Joe Maggard, great-granddaughter, Kayla Faith Dodson, sisters, Mrs. Callie Cox, Mrs. Bobby Zill, Mrs. Gean Presley, infant sister, Solfie and Mable Maggard, two infant brothers. Survivors, Wife, Idell Phillips Maggard, sons, Jimmy Maggard of Georgia, Charlie Maggard of Nashville, daughters, Mrs. Wanda Cook and husband Doyle of Clinton, Angie Maggard of Clinton, Mrs. Donna Hawkins and husband Robert of Maryville, grandson, Sammy Hawkins of Maryville, granddaughters, Hanna Hawkins of Maryville, Brenda Catrina and Melissa Cook of Clinton, sisters, Mrs. Nellie Dahlheim od Davenport,Iowa, Mrs. Nancy Rickett of Oak Ridge, Mrs. Kathy Scarbrough and husband Gene of Clinton, special friend, Kathleen Cox and her family, Mrs. Brenda Lindsay and husband, Bob, Mrs. Sally Messamore and husband, Don, Mrs. Edna Liles and husband, Max, Mrs. Joyce Stevens and husband Charlie, Mrs. Sue Fox and husband Frank, Mrs. Pat Daniels, Mrs. Steven Fox all of Clinton, a host of other nieces and nephews and friends. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Jones Mortuary in Clinton with funeral services following at 8 p.m. in the Jones Mortuary chapel with the Rev. Gene Scarbrough and the Rev.Ed Dennison officiating. Interment was at 11a.m. Monday, April 2, 2007, at the Jarnigan Chapel Cemetery in Clinton.Jones Mortuary in Clinton was in charge of all arrangements.
