Lawhorn, 82, of Oak Ridge, Billie Duncan Miller, 78, of Paducah, Ky., and a former longtime Oak Ridger Muriel H. Sosnowski, 78, of Oak Ridge, Sandra Kay Seeber, of Oak Ridge, Jack Curtis Letellier, 70, Rex Hallcox, of Clinton, Rebecca Edwards, 72, of Oak Ridge, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at NHC HealthCare of Oak Ridge, under hospice care. She was born in Waynesboro, Ga. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Striggles of Oak Ridge, and Debbe Edwards Robinson of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one son, Alvin Striggles of St. Petersburg, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommie Mims officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Foothills Funeral Home in Maryville is in charge of the arrangements. Kimberly Ownbey Kennedy, 42, formerly of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga., died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was a 1980 graduate of Lakeview-Ft. Oglethorpe High School and was an avid University of Tennessee football fan. She was a Baptist. Ms. Kennedy is survived by her daughter, Cindy Pittman of Rossville, Ga.; her brothers, Ken Ownbey of Hermitage and Al Hill of Bell Buckle; her twin sister, Karen Ownbey Crabtree of Ringgold, Ga., and sisters, Billie Jo Roberts of Murfreesboro and Faye Brown of Aberdeen, N.C.; and by several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2005, in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe with the Rev. Robert Huff officiating. Loren M. Lawhorn, 82, of Oak Ridge, died Monday, March 7, 2005, at his home. The son of McKager and Isabel Lawhorn, he was born on June 30, 1922, and grew up in Rugby. He loved to tell stories, especially about residents living in Rugby whom he knew and loved as he grew up there. He was a graduate of Sunbright High School in Sunbright; he received a bachelor's degree from Tennessee Polytechnical Institute in Cookeville and earned a master's degree from George Peabody College in Nashville. He taught in the one-room school in Rugby for one year and was principal at the Sunbright High School from 1949 until 1953. He was a member of New Faith Masonic Lodge No. 76 in Sunbright, for more than 50 years. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater during World War II. He worked in Oak Ridge during the 1940s and again in 1953 until his retirement from Martin Marietta in 1985. He was an active member and deacon of Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge. He had been very involved with the senior groups of the church, the JJ Choir and Go-Getters. He served many years as a Sunday school teacher working with many different age groups. He was preceded in death by his parents, McKager and Isabel Lawhorn; two brothers, Theodore and Hiram Lawhorn; and a sister Dora Lawhorn Gregory. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Azilee Pate Lawhorn; and his four children, Edward Barry Lawhorn and wife, Karen, of Richmond, Va.; Donald Wayne Lawhorn and wife, Carolyn, of Knoxville; Susan Lawhorn Willoughby and husband, Mickey, of Knoxville; and John Michael Lawhorn and wife, Eva, of Knoxville. He was very proud of his 12 grandchildren, Andrew Clay Lawhorn, Trent Edward Lawhorn, Joseph Chapman Lawhorn, Amanda Pate Lawhorn, Thomas McKager Lawhorn, Pamela Elaine Willoughby, Amy Willoughby Bowman, Mark Everett Willoughby, Dale Logan Lawhorn, Wade Michael Lawhorn, Kane Alec Lawhorn and Blake David Lawhorn. He also leaves a brother, Harry Hammond, and wife, Colleen, of Haywood, Calif., and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Mullins and the Rev. Bob Gray officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Billie Duncan Miller, 78, of Paducah, Ky., and a former longtime Oak Ridger, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. She was born on June 27, 1926, in North Little Rock, Ark., the daughter of John Michael Duncan and Jewell Dean Wood Duncan. Mrs. Miller worked for Union Carbide Corporation for many years beginning in 1945. She later worked at the County Court Clerk's office, the Oak Ridge Credit Bureau, and Western Auto. She retired in the late 1970s and moved to Paducah, Ky., in the summer of 2000, to be near her son and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Holland Miller, in 1997; and a brother, John M. Duncan. Mrs. Miller is survived by her sons, George H. "Butch" Miller of Paducah, Ky., and John Michael Miller and wife, Shannon, of Nashville; her daughter, Judy Gagliano and husband, Steve, of Peach Tree City, Ga.; her grandchildren, Stephen Gagliano and wife, Shannon, of Peachtree City, Ga., Daniel Gagliano and wife, Brandy, of Nashville, Ryan Miller of Paducah, Ky., Michael Miller of Knoxville, and Clara Miller and Grace Miller, both of Nashville; and her great-grandchildren, Aelise Gagliano and Mary Jane Gagliano, both of Peachtree City, Ga.. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Clara Reynolds and husband, Jack, of Bybee, Tenn., and her nieces and nephews, John D. May and Jackie Culler, both of Atlanta, Ga., Kathy M. Edwards of Oak Ridge, and Rita Carter and Jubal Reynolds, both of Bybee, Ga. The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2005, in the chapel at Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Sosnowski, 78, of Oak Ridge, died on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. The daughter of Joseph and Verda Roberts Hinkle, she was born on June 15, 1926, in Roane Mountain, Tenn., and moved to Oak Ridge in the early 1950s. Mrs. Sosnowski was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and received her Certified Professional Secretary certificate from Roane State Community College. She had been employed with the Tennessee Valley Authority and Oak Ridge plants, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant, X-10 and K-25, and lastly with Paine Webber. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, Ann Shell, Christine Jarrett, Robert Hinkle and Ray Hinkle. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Stanley Sosnowski of Oak Ridge; her son, Stanley Sosnowski III of Knoxville; her daughter, Suzanne Hnilica of Hendersonville; her grandson, Andrew Hnilica of Hendersonville; and two sisters, Edith Phipps of Watauga, and Grace Gibson of Oak Ridge. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2005, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Woods officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 10 at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home, with a rosary service following the visitation.
