"JIM" - GOSE, AGNES WHITE - age 84, of Powell, HAMMOND, FLORENE ISBELL MCAFEE, BOBBY - of Norris, NOLEN, RONALD J. - age 69, of Clinton, PRIDE, THOMAS P., JR. - age 67 of Clinton, TN, BAIRD, JAMES F. "JIM" - born November 8, 1921, passed away February 28, 2005 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He attended the Ivey Dale Church of God. Mr. Baird was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed going to the mountains, 4-wheeling and gardening. Preceded in death by sons, LeRoy and Harold Baird; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers; parents, Albert and Martha Hatmaker Baird. Survived by wife, Reva Baird of LaFollette; daughter, Patsy Powers of Caryville; sons, Charles Baird of Jacksboro, Jerry Baird of Caryville and Steve Baird of Jacksboro; brother, Charles Baird of Ypsilanti, Mich.; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2005 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Pat Ayers and Rev. Tommy Swafford officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday night before funeral services. Martin Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. GOSE, AGNES WHITE - age 84, of Powell, passed away Monday February 28, 2005 at North Haven Nursing Home. She was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church and retired from K- 25 Union Carbide after 38 years of service as a Supervisor in Computer Operations. She was preceded in death by: husband, Cecil Gose; parents, Rev. Edgar and Gertrude Reneau White; and brother Edgar White, Jr. She will be sadly missed by: her sisters-in-law, Evelyn White and Evelyn Gose, and niece Vicky Wilson; and several other nieces and nephews. Service, 8:00 p.m., Thursday, Mynatt Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Dudley Cockrum and Rev. Perry Austin officiating. Family and friends will meet, 1:45 p.m., Friday at Bethel- Lynch Cemetery for an interment service at 2 pm Pallbearers: Doug Gose, Steve White, Mike White, Michael White, Jim White and Mike Dixon. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Mynatt Funeral Home. HAMMOND, FLORENE ISBELL - went to live with her Heavenly Father on February 28, 2005. She was a member of Black Oak Heights Baptist Church. Born on February 4, 1924 to Jessie Hugh and Lutie Isbell in Lauderdale County, AL, the oldest of five children. She was a Prayer Warrior for many and a precious mother. Preceded in death by twin infant sisters, mother and father, husband, Jesse Horace Hammond; daughter, Vicky Melton; and sister-in-law, Gloyce Isbell. Surviving children and spouses: Carol and Jack Harrell, and Pallas Powers of Knoxville; Tim and Charlene Hammond, Clinton, TN; grandchildren and spouses: Sheila and Kenny Boatman, David and Lori Harrell, Allison and J.J. Surlas, Valerie and Danny Webb, Stacy and Paul Hawn, and Amie Melton, Wartburg, TN; David and Lindsay Powers, and Lydia Powers of Knoxville, Sarah, Aarin, Anna and Caleb Hammond, Clinton, TN; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Corene Newton, Moorpark, CA; brothers and spouses: Jim and Jan Isbell, Decatur, AL, Roy and Mattie Isbell, Bristol, TN, Roger and Sara Isbell, Birmingham, AL; six nieces and nephews. Special thanks is given to all the wonderful doctors and nurses on 7 East Pavilion and 5 East Pavilion at U.T. Medical Center and 2nd floor staff of Fort Sanders, NHC and her Pastor, Dr. Mike Ramage and the staff of Black Oak Heights Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family desires that contributions be made to the Debt Retirement Fund of Black Oak Heights Baptist Church. Celebration service will be held Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 8 PM at Black Oak Heights Baptist Church, 405 Black Oak Drive, Knoxville with Dr. Mike Ramage officiating. Friends and family will meet at Roane Memorial Gardens in Harriman, TN on Friday at 11 AM. Pallbearers will be grandsons, grandsons in law and great grandsons. Honorary pallbearer her Deacon Mr. E.G. Evans, a very caring friend in Christ. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at Black Oaks Heights Baptist Church. Mynatt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. MCAFEE, BOBBY - of Norris, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at the University of Tennessee Hospital. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in Andersonville. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Roy & Gladys Stooksbury McAfee and first wife, Sue McAfee. Survivors: wife, Madelyn McAfee of Norris; sons, Robert & wife Anne McAfee of Prospect, KY, Richard & wife Tracy McAfee of Andersonville; daughter, Cindy Phillips of Knoxville; grandchildren, Taylor, Brendan, and Blake McAfee of Prospect, KY, Jordan & Zachary McAfee of Andersonville; brothers & sisters, Peggy Tibbitts of Denver, CO, Walter McAfee & wife Evelyn of Powell, Larry McAfee & wife Tess of Andersonville, Steve McAfee & wife Glenna of Andersonville, James McAfee & wife Matilda of Connecticut, Barbara Hayes & husband Chuck of Andersonville; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. The family will have a Masonic Service at 8:00 PM, with a funeral service following. NOLEN, RONALD J. - age 69, of Clinton, passed away, Saturday, February 26, 2005. He was of the Baptist faith. Ronald is preceded in death by parents, Chester Arthur & Josephine Lane Nolen; half-sister, Mildred Disney. Survivors: son, Tony Nolen & wife Angela of Knoxville; daughter, Teresa Pratt & husband Todd of Knoxville; former wife, Thelma Nolen of Oak Ridge; special cousin, Opal Grooms of Clinton. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Holley- Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the chapel with Rev. Ronnie Batchelor officiating. PRIDE, THOMAS P., JR. - age 67 of Clinton, TN, passed away Tuesday February 22, 2005 at his residence. He was a member of the Clinch River Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Brogan Pride. Survivors: wife, Janice Sparks Pride of Clinton; daughters, Tammy Mills & husband, Steve, of Clinton, Tonia Black of Clinton; grandchildren, Hunter Mills, Barry Black & Bronson Black; father, Thomas P. Pride, Sr. of Clinton; sisters, Norma Aslinger & husband, Abra, of Clinton, Peggy Beets of Clinton; brothers, Lynn Pride & wife, Betty of Clinton, Glenn Pride & wife, Jessie of Clinton, Jack Brogan &wife, Edith of Calif.; special friends, Kyle Phillips, Robert Fox, Red Harmon, Jim Burris, Charles Mills, Tim Isabell & Eddie Edwards, all of Lake City; several nieces & nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. The family received friends on Thursday, February 24th from 6-8 p.m. at the Clinch River Baptist Church with the funeral service to following at 8 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Tom Byrge & Rev. Larry Webster officiating. Family & friends met on Friday February 25th at 1 p.m. at the Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton for graveside services.
