S. M. Hutton Is Dead At 84 Stephen M. Hutton, 84, of 2905 English Road died today at 5:25 a.m. in High Point Memorial Hospital. He had been in declining health five years and critically ill three weeks. Mr. Hutton was born in Clinton, Tenn., March 13, 1892, a son of Charles and Caroline Hutton. He had been a resident of the High Point area for 45 years and was an employee of Adams-Millis Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1956. He was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Jamestown. On Dec. 25. 1914, he married the former Miss Daisy Bland. She survives of the home. Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons, James M. Hutton of Dillon, S.C., Marion S. Hutton of Sherbrook Drive. Norwood H. Hutton of Chattanooga. Tenn., and Iredell S. Hutton of Burlington: one daughter. Mrs. Evelyn Bowers of J a m e s t o w n : 12 grandchildren: four greatgrandchildren. and four sisters, Mrs. Homer (Ella) Courtney of Clinton, Tenn.. Mrs. Lee (Alice) Loy of LaPorte. Texas. Mrs. Mary Disney of Dayton, Texas, and Mrs. Gypsy Walker of Clinton, Tenn. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body will remain at Cumby Mortuary on Chestnut Drive, and the family will be there Wednesday night 7 to 8.30. The family requests that memorials be directed to First Baptist Church of Jamestown, rather than to the funeral.
