WANDA JANE - age 79 of Harriman, WARD, ANNA MARIE - 61 of Clinton, Tennessee, WHITSON, WILLIAM ROBERT - age 88 of Powell, BALES, LAURA ROSE LANGLEY - born July 17, 1934 in Lancing, a lifelong resident of the Sunbright-Deer Lodge area, passed away March 4, 2005 following a long illness. She was preceded in death by: her father, Forrest Langley, Sr; sister, Myrtle Langley Jones; brother, Forrest Langley, Jr. She is survived by: daughter, Debra Bales Cortner of Dallas, GA; son, Chuck Bales of Deer Lodge; three granddaughters, Jennifer Cortner of Jacksonville, Florida, Erin and Valerie Cortner of Dallas, Georgia; mother, Ova Watson Langley; sister, Pat Jones; brother, Paul Langley; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 pm at Schubert Funeral Home in Sunbright. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, in Mt. Hope Cemetery. HOLBERT, EVA LEE - 94, Oak Ridge, died on March 5, 2005. Preceded in death by: husband, James Edward Holbert, 3 sisters, and 1 brother. Survivors include: daughters, Jean Holbert, Knoxville, Blanche Miller and husband, Al, Oliver Springs, Faye Holbert Ringer and husband, Jim, Fox Lake, Illinois; grandchildren, Kim Brown and husband, Mark, Mooresville, NC, Melanie Kent and husband, David, Clinton, Cindy Ringer and Dani Butsch, New York, NY, Jimmy Ringer and wife, Christy, Lakemoor, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Emily and Molly Brown, Tyler and Kelli Kent, Caden Ringer. The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 pm at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge with funeral service to follow at 8 pm. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, 11 am at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Mrs. Parker was a member of Bruce Gap Community Church of God. She loved to quilt, make wishing wells & odd things out of clothes pins & find the word puzzle. Preceded in death by: husband, Edger E. Parker; daughter, Florine Lawson; & parents, Robert & Minnie Sheffield Ausbine; sister, Margaret Madison; 2 infants sisters & 1 infant brother. WANDA JANE - age 79 of Harriman, passed away Friday, March 4, 2005. She was of the Baptist Faith and was preceded in death by: her husband, B.J. Venable; son, Ben Venable; parents, Ben, Sr. and Cassie Byrd Meers. She is survived by: brother and sister-in-law, Benjamin, Jr. and Laura Meers of Evans, Georgia; several aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 1-2 pm at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. Funeral services will follow with Bro. Charles Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in Roane Memorial Gardens. WARD, ANNA MARIE - 61 of Clinton, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2005 at home surrounded by her husband and children. She was born in Knoxville on January 27, 1944. Anna worked as a mother and housewife, later as a teacher assistant at South Clinton Elementary School, and then retired to care for her grandchildren as the best Mamaw in the world. She served diligently in Glory Way Baptist Church as pastor's wife, pianist and Sunday school teacher. Preceded in death by: infant children, Tammy Denise Ward and James Arthur Ward; parents, William and Lillie Mae Smith; and young sister Ruth Smith. Survived by: her loving husband of 42 years, Jess Ward; son, Darrel Ward and wife Peggy, and their children Joshua and Jacob; son, Stephen Ward and wife April; son, Michael Ward; daughter, Karen Beatty and husband Chris and their children Alexander and Elijah; son, David Ward; brother, William Carl Smith and wife Chlo Ann; sister, Ella "Rowena" Crawley and husband Lawrence; brother, Paul Smith and wife Martha; brother, Edward Smith; sister-in-law, Faye Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services provided by Holly Gamble in Clinton, receiving friends at Glory Way Baptist Church Monday from 6-8 pm with funeral immediately following at 8:00 pm. Dr. James Jones, Rev. Bill Roop and Rev. Clayton Duncan officiating. Family and friends will join at Woodhaven Cemetery in Claxton at 1:00 pm Tuesday for the graveside service. He was a member of the Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a WWII Veteran and a retiree as a Chemical Engineer with Oakridge National Lab. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Joseph E. and Mae Etta Whitson; and his brother, Paul E. Whitson. He is survived by: his wife, Mary Wade Whitson; his daughter, Camille W. Abrams and husband Randy of Camden S.C.; grandchildren, Meg and Whit Abrams both of Columbia S.C; his sister, Mauline W. Yarnell of Knoxville; niece, Joetta Goosie of Knoxville; and nephew, Jerald E. Whitson of Sulphur Springs Texas. The family will receive friends from 6pm til 8pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at the Weaver Funeral Home.
