Clinton Courier July 14, 1977 Ex-Miner At Beech Grove Dies Of Stroke Hubert A. Foust 79, of U.S. Highway 25-W, Lake City Rt1, died at 1:30 a.m. Friday at Lake City Hospital following a stroke. A retired coal miner, he had been employed at the Beech Grove mines. he was a member and deacon of Clear Branch Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening. A was a native of the Lake City area and the son of the late Jim and Minerva Foust. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Martha Lindsay Foust, two daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Ernestine) Dinkins and Mrs. Alvin (Faye) Burris of Lake City, a grandchild, and a brother, Harry Foust of Montebello, Calif. Funeral services were held Sunday at Clear Branch Church with the Rev. T. D. Hooker and Darryl Cox officiating. Burial was in Leach Cemetery.

Clinton Courier July 14, 1977 Leonard Mosley, 56, of Briceville, died last Thursday at Lake City Hospital after sustaining a heart attack while attending a wresting match at Lake City High School. He was a retired construction worker and an Army veteran of World War II. Mosley was a member of Briceville Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Flossie Idles Mosley, two sons, Wallace Mosley of Clinton, and Leonard Mosley Jr, of Briceville, six daughters, Mary Elizabeth Phillips of Clinton, Mrs. Janice Daugherty and Miss. Marilyn Mosley of Briceville, Mrs. Georgia Mowery and Mrs. Autherine Hicks of Anniston, Ala. and Mrs. Judy Jackson of Ft. Knox., Ky., a brother, Charlie Mosley of Lake City, three sisters, Mrs. Naomi Wessel of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Pearl Landrum of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. Pauline Stooksbury of Clinton and 16 grandchildren. Clinton Courier July 14, 1977 Briceville Native Dies In Crash Dallas Brown, 32, of Cleveland, Ohio., died July 6 in a Cleveland hospital of injuries received in a motorcycle crash. A native of Briceville, he and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Brown, moved to Ohio in 1952. he worked at several jobs in Cleveland. Other survivors include a son, Cort M. Brown and a daughter, Kimberly Brown, of Cleveland, a brother, Philmore Brown of Briceville, and four sisters, Mrs. Shirley Jean Martinez, Mrs. Angela Mills and Miss. Barbara Brown of Cleveland, and Mrs. Virginia Kay Elkins of Nolan, W. Va. Funeral services were held Sunday at Laurel Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Henry Duncan and the Rev. Edwin Phillips officiating. Burial was in Brown Cemetery near Briceville.

They were married July 14, 1934, by Squire J.S. Holt on Clinton Fairgrounds. Mrs. Ridenour is retired from Anderson County School system, and Mr. Ridenour from They have two children, a son, Robert, who lives with his wife, Joan, in Andersonville, and a daughter, Wilma, who reside with husband, Milyon Hutchinson, in Clinton. Clinton Courier March 3, 1977 Homemaker Of Clinton Dies At 92 Mrs. Tilda Mary Taylor, 92, of Taylor Rd., Marlow community, Clinton Rt.5, died at her home at 2:10 a.m. last Thursday. A homemaker for many years, she was the wife of the late Hugh Miller Taylor, an employe of Hercules Powder Co. of Marlow. She was a native of Anderson County and the daughter of the late Lindsey White and Hilley Sweet Brock. She was a member of Poplar Creek Baptist Church, and enjoyed raising flowers, gardening, making quilts and sewing. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Maxie McDonald of Clinton, s son, Maynard Brock Taylor of Clinton, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Edith Smith of Rutledge and Mrs. Ruth Smith of Alton, Ill.,, a stepson, Earl Taylor of Marlow, nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and eight- great-great-grandchldren. Clinton Courier March 3, 1977 Ex-Clinton Resident Dies In Memphis Samuel W. Argubright, 81, of Memphis, died Friday in a Memphis Hospital. A native of Clinton, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James C. Argubright, and he was a resident of the Town for many years. He worked for Tennessee Valley Authority until sustaining severe burns in an accident on the job in Sheffield, Ala. in 1937. He returned to Clinton briefly before moving to Memphis. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge there. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Giles Argubright, two daughters, Mrs. John (Helen) McDaniel and Mrs. Walter (Marietta) Jones of Memphis, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday in Memphis with burial in the National Cemetery there.
Clinton Courier March 3, 1977 Railroad Worker For 50 Years Dies Samuel P. Graham, 90, of 410 Springs St., Clinton died Friday afternoon at Oak Ridge Hospital. A retired railroad laborer, he worked for the Southern Railway System for almost 50 years. He was a veteran of World War I and served in the Army. A native of Clinton, he was the son of the late James and Lucy Portwood Graham. He was a member of Clinton Second Baptist Church and he enjoyed fishing and gardening. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. R.L. (Juanita) Atkins of Clinton, twos sons, Bill Graham of Clinton and Dan Graham of Oak Ridge, a stepson, Clarence Wampler of Akron, Ohio., a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ruby Matthews of Clinton, 26 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
