Clinton Courier May 29, 1952 Mrs. Maude Cox Services for Mrs. Maude Cox of Lake City Rt. 2, who died early Saturday morning at St. Mary's Hospital, were held Tuesday afternoon at Fraterville Baptist Church. She was 59. Survivors include her husband, Ed Cox, four sons, Frank and Earthel of Toledo, O., Esco and Roy of Lake City, three daughters, Mrs. Lillian Harness of Detroit, Mrs. Beatrice White of Briceville, Mrs. Maxine Helton of Everette, Ky., one step-daughter, Mrs. Annamae Howard and one step-son, Leland Cox , both of Kentucky, one sister, Mrs. Lassie Herbert of Lafollette, two brothers, Ed Sharp of Knoxville and Earthel of Royal Blue, W. Va. The Rev. Lewis Ward and the Rev. Lonzo Dugger officiated at the funeral services. Burial was in Leach Cemetery with Martin's of Lake City in charge.
Clinton Courier May 29, 1952 John Franklin Lively John Franklin Lively, 65, a retired mail carrier of Jacksboro, died early Monday morning at the home of a sister, Mrs. Sarah Melton in Jacksboro. He is survived by one son, Jerome Lively of Caryville, six grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Melton, four brothers, Will and Edward of Oliver Springs, Richard of Briceville and Carl of Atlanta, Ga. The Rev. Mr. Aiken and the Rev. M. W. Bodlein officiated at the services which were hed at the First Baptist Church of Jacksboro Wednesday at 2 p.m. Burial was in the Jacksboro Cemetery with Martin's of Lake City in charge.

More About Mandy Bunch: Burial: Beech Grove Cemetery, Anderson Co, TN July 8,1916 - Dual Tragedy At Petros A dual tragedy was enacted at New River in Anderson County Sunday afternoon, resulting in the death of Earl Dougherty, aged 21 years, and brother James Dougherty, aged 40 years. The killing was done by James and Luke Bunch who were officers and were attempting to arrest Earl Dougherty for bootlegging. James Dougherty, in trying to rescue his brother, snapped a shotgun which failed to fire. All four men then drew revolvers and a pistol battle followed, resulting as stated. The parties were distantly related and bitter feeling has existed for some time. The tragedy created much excitement. The brothers were buried in the same grave. James and Luke Bunch, who did the killing came to Clinton Tuesday, and surrendered to Sheriff Smith. The accused claim self defense. Pending a preliminary trial next Monday, the accused were placed in jail. A son, Virgil, who was with him at the time, narrowly escaped being struck by the same tree, which was cut down by another workman in the woods. West, a veteran of World War I, was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and a member of Fraterville Baptist Church. Clinton Courier June 12, 1952 Miss. Oda Ridenour Miss. Oda Ridenour, 50, died at her home on Fountain City, Rt 11, Monday. She is survived by her father, John A. Clinton Courier June 12, 1952 Noah Harness Funeral services for Noah Harness of Briceville Rt.1 were held Wednesday morning at Laurel Grove Baptist Church where he was a member. Officiating was the Rev. Lee Phillips and burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Harness who was 67, died Monday noon at Scott Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eva Harness, three daughters, Mrs. Vaughn Lisenbee of Fayetteville, N.C. , Mrs. Josephine Vandergriff of Briceville, and Mrs. Grace Fredrick of Fork Mountain, one son, Walter Moore of Knoxville, one sister, Mrs. B. W. Duncan of Walden, Ark., brothers, T. M. Harness of Hampton, Va., and Robert Harness of Kentucky, and several grandchildren. Cox of Lake City had charge of arrangements.

Ernest Hensley and the Rev. Johnnie Victory will officiated and burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Lively of Oliver Springs Rt.2 lived in Anderson County most of her life. She is survived by her husband, W. M. Lively, one daughter, Mrs. Sibyl Braden of Oliver Springs and one sister, Mrs. John Rhea of Clinton. Martin's of Clinton has charge of the funeral arrangements.
