Just in case some one missed this and besides I have to remember how to do get on line again . Don Carden, died January 28 2007. at home in Olypnia, Washington. Phyllis
I am researching the James Morgan family. James [age 48] and wife Margaret Ann are found in Campbell co. Tn. in 1860 with children Mary E. [she is deaf], Martha, Thomas J., and Sarah C. The family is still in Campbell co. Tn. in 1870, but husband James is no longer with the family. In 1880 the family is in Anderson co. TN.; Margaret A. is the head of household and sons Thomas and Horas/Harris are still at home. Thomas Morgan married Matilda Herrell in Dec. 1881 in Anderson co., Now, in 1900 Anderson co. Tn. Thomas Morgans wife appears to be 'Sophia' born 1854, married 14 yrs.?????????? [has to be Matilda , the children are : ......Martha, dau. b: 1888, age 12, b:Tn. .....Lucy, dau. b: 1891, 9 b: Tn. .....Nancy, dau. b: 1895, 5 b: Tn. .....Rainey, dau. b: May,1897, age 3 .....Victoria, dau. b: 1900, age 2 months Heres the big mystery: In 1910 Thomas Morgan is living with his son William [born 1882], Thomas Morgan is a widower. What happened to his 5 daughters listed on the above 1900 census? Lori

Hello All, I haven't been on line as of late (on my personal email at least). The McCloud family bible shows Elizabeth McCloud as Elizabeth Webber and her headstone also. She is the mother of James, etc. and looks like she died when Levi was born. Thanks, Gloria K. Davis Deborah, I know I haven't gotten to talk with you lately. Hope all is well. Penny, I don't know if we have ever talked before or not. This comes from not only the lawsuit between James' widow and Daniel Yarnell but also a later suit between Buckner Ezell and the other descendants of Casper K Weber in relation to property Casper left. I was given Elizabeth as the mother by descendants of this line. Like you I can't connect her for sure. I personally suspect that Casper may have been previously married to an unknown woman in SC. This would be the mother of both James 1807 and his brother John William Webber abt 1808. I can't put Elizabeth in NC/SC for any r eason for that time period. I would love to learn more about Elizabeth to get an idea of where she was etc during this time period. For now it is just a "gut" feeling that she is not the mother. It is not my direct line ( I descend from Casper K's brother Solomon) but would like to know for sure anyway. Anderson County News Aug. 27, 1932 To New River Duellists Die Differing Versions Of Fight Leave Sheriff Baffled New River, in this county near the Scott county line, has two widows and four orphan children as a result of the Lowe-Hensley pistol duel Thursday night. Wayne Hensley, shot through the abdomen and stomach died in Howard-Henderson hospital, Knoxville at 1:30 a.m. Saturday. His brother-in-law, Cordice Lowe with whom he grappled and fought over a high embankment, died at General Hospital, Knoxville, Friday morning. IN the meanwhile New River is hearing many versions of the bitter fight, Sheriff Cleve Daugherty said Saturday there were so many that he never expected to get the straight of it. Daugherty said the investigation possibly would result in the arrest of the wife of one of the slain men. "However", said Daugherty,"the relatives will take the warrant, I'm not going to do it". This much toward explaining the fight is agreed upon: Mrs. Wayne Hensley left her husband at home, went to the home of John Lowe, father of Cordie Lowe, and where her mother was visiting. Hensley went to bring his wife home, A quarrel followed. Cordie Lowe and Hensley, his brother-in-law grappled and rolled over a bank. One version has it that the two men shot each other as the grappled and rolled into the highway. Another version is that the wife grabbled a pistol, and in shooting her husband's autagonist, accidentally shot her own husband. Bodies of both men were back in New River Saturday.
