I have been stuck on him for a good many years and can't seem to get any further. I have also read a lot on the Indian culture but not enough, evidently. 3. My grandfather was a minister in the Methodist minister in Clinton, TN. He served the church twice, in about 1916 and again in the late 1920's. Would it be possible for you to check the index to see if there is anything in the book about the history of the Methodist Church in Clinton and/or Rev. Timothy Victor Hugo Peters (aka; Tim Peters and or T. V. Peters). If there is, I would love to purchase one of your books, Bicentennial History of Anderson County, 1976-1996. 3. Helen The Cherokee Indians were a predominant culture all over east Tennessee but especially in south east Tennessee. It is a complicated series of events that led to the Great Removal of 1838-39. But as a result of their having lived here and their tendency to accept any culture and color into their midst it is almost impossible to find a very old Tennessee family that doesn't have some Cherokee heritage. The mixed bloods almost had their own culture. Like I stated, it is impossible to tell this complex issue inside the confines of one email. I've been studying it for many years and there's still much I don't know....just enough to be dangerous....as some would say. If you want to know if you have Cherokee heritage the best thing you can do is study back thru the entire family tree of the one you suspect of having the heritage. Most of the time it was thru females. 2. Thanks Ron, I have both Anderson Co books and they are wonderful. I thought maybe you might know if there were any laying around somewhere. But as I posted I too had thought it was a pre-paid book. The members can check from time to time on E-bay. I found my BIG Fentress book there before I nagged them to re-print it and it sold like hot cakes. People still want it...Helen knows...I even bought a second one for my brother at $100 a book. I paid more on ebay but it has been worth every dollar.
