I have some additional information to add concerning Thomas Harvey Messamore. I have completed a transcription of his Civil War pension papers. I previously reported that a daughter Sarah Elizabeth Messamore was born 13 Apr 1869 and died 22 Jun 1872. Upon further review and reflection, I believe that the 22 Jun 1872 is a birth date of another child, one whose name is undecipherable in Thomas's Civil War service papers. Therefore, the question of why Sarah Elizabeth Messamore was not listed in the 1870 census can probably be answered by proposing that she died in infancy before the 1870 census was taken. Remember that Sarah Elizabeth's mother died on 20 May 1869. So I think that both mother and daughter died shortly after the daughter was born. With that in mind, here first is my transcription of Thomas Civil War pension papers. It is followed by a list of his wives and children, based on census data, marriage records, and his Civil War pension papers. Department of the Interior Bureau of Pensions Washington, D.C., January 2, 1915 Sir: Please answer, at your earliest convenience, the questions enumerated below. Polly, This is what I found on LDS records Of John W Kry. I don't like to use them bacuse of so many mistake unlss I know the submitter. Mahala Aldred (note spelling) She was born abt. 1798 Where ? He father was Solomon Aldred & his wife was Mary Mc Donald. Mahala is the only child listed and nothing more on her Except the Abt. birth date of 1798. The Elizabeth that I found born in Va. abt. 1802/ Mahala married John W. Key, about 1817, In Greene Co., abt. 1798 and says he was born in Greene Co., Tenn. I've check out Green Co., all this week and found a lady who is also a Key and has lots of information. The John W. Key is Not John Wesley Key but John Williams Key. I'm really batting a 100. I'm starting to think maybe John was from Barbato's (Sp) ? Phyllis Phyllis
I forgot to add that John W. Key;'s wife died before 1880. I have a book or I should say pages from a book by Paula Gummal ? that list marriages in Anderson Co & that;s where I got the name "Early" for James W. Right now I don't even know my own name. Phyllis

Martha Jane Harrell was the wife of John Webb not George. My records say that she was born in Va. Her family removed to Missouri. Her sister Mariah Jane Harrell married Sterling Nunn. I believe that research says that John Webb was the son of George Webb and ??. Does anyone know George's wifes name. I descend from John and Martha's son Charles Preston Webb and his wife Sarah Ellen Dunkin.
>John if you are taking abut Isaac's Son Elisha that Susan Elizabeth Landrum >Long that is thomas landrum daughter > > Elisha Long was born Grainger co. I didn't know her first name was >Susan, it good to know. I'm confused. Elisha Long and Elizabeth Landrum had a daughter named Susan Elizabeth Long born about 1845. Are you saying that Susan Elizabeth Long's mother was named Susan Elizabeth Landrum rather than just Elizabeth Landrum? Thanks, Jerry Bryan
It's not a bit of trouble. I'll look as I go through my old papers. I found marriage copy;s from books. I'm so smart I make notes but don't put down where I got them.Never know what you might find in 40 some odd years of paper. How was Ferne ??? I plan on making one book for my son unless you want me to eat a lot of beans. One never gets their $ back on genealogy but I'll do more checking. I will email you at home I bet the line is sick of my story's tonight. I'm just darn right lucky I got back on line. Phyllis
I almost fell off the chair how wonderful & the Overtons too, well so am I via the Peters ( I think). Boy such a small world. Not only that the University Of Tennessee I never miss the foot ball game. We thought we had died and gone to heven. We were pulling a trailer and I guess the football game was over & the traffic was like Los Angeles (where I was raised) but people would pull over put their arms out the window & wave us on. That was so neat ,just coming from Atlanta ( sorry about that). it was really nice. The next day we got a flag for our car of Tennessee. Not just because my people came from Tenn. but it has the nicest people I've ever been around & that's a lot. My grandma Rogers, must of loved Clinton because on her toumbstone in Salina, Kansas, across it was Clinton, Tennessee. I think she wanted those Kansas people to know she didn't belong there. I was born in Salina. I used to write Mary at her son's. Her son was a good artest & I have a picture he did. & Joe Dail I fell in love with, had it not been for him I would not know what I do. Annie Dail Hackworth was so special. They all were & I miss them. Is Margaret buried at the cem. at Dutch Valley with the rest of the family? I think she spent most of her life in Tazwell. I have made a large picture of the Church & Cemetery & it hangs on my wall. sure wish I had their. genes the girls lived into their 90's.There was one sister who lived in Ky and for the life of me, can't remember her name. I was just looking today at their pictures & still can't remember it. she used to bring Apples from Ky. & my how good they were. I would like to come back one more time but my traveling days are over Thanks so much Bailey. God Bless, Phyllis
