If who ever wants this story of the Clinch River Pearls , let me read the 5 or 6 pages to see what's there & it might not be that much as I glanced over the pages and I didn't see anything about them. It has in index, on page 106 clinch river pearls but I didn't see anything. Give me tonight to read it and I'll put it on line unless there is to to much for me to type. The book is a wonderful thing to own however. I've learned much from it. I think I bought mine in 1990 and it was about $40.00 then Back later, Phyllis
Some while back I recall some postings about the Clinch River pearl trade. Can anyone bring me up to date on that - articles, books, etc. David Kesterson
In the book of Anderson Co., Historical Sketches by Katherine Baker Hoskins.there are about 4 pages on the Clinch River, floods & pearls. When I was there in the 1990's I wanted to buy one as my great grandfather & his brother ran a ferry across the river. None were to be found & I don't think they are in the river any more but not sure about that. Can you get the book ??? Phyllis
Hi, Sorry but my Packham line does not come to Anderson Co., but England to Ky. Not only that I don't have a scanner. Had one & never could learn to use it & now it's out dated. Did you know Bonnie Phillips ( if I remember right) comes into the Prosise line via the Peters or Benjamin Franklin Prosise. Are you in my line with the the Prosise's or just want the information??? Here is the address of the Blandford Cemetery in Va. 319 Charter Rd. Petersburg, Va. 23803 phone (804) 733-2379. Happy Hunting, Phyllis

What address ??? Blandford Cemetery ??? First I have to find it but seems I did see it a few day's ago. I'll give it to you tomarrow. I've been searching Dinwiddie Co., since 1963. I've heard that have taken tax & land records up for research. Lot's of history in that Co., The Prosise's lived on Church Rd. right in the middle of the fighting. I also have a land deed signed by thee Thomas Jefferson. Those Southern gals were mean.( grin) They made my GG grandfather & others apple pie's with ground glass in them. Took my gg granpa 2 years to die from it. I have the war papers stating that fact. His son John W. Packham was the youngest civil war vet age 12 & I have that story in Harper's Newspaper dated 1865. Last year I was blessed with a picture of them both in uniform which my G Aunt hand tinted in color. They were on tin & years later had them restored. GOD BLESS AMERICA. Phyllis
You bet ya, Can't keep a good gal down. I'll remember the Prosise's I promise. How many do you want ? I'll give you Thomas J. Prosise & family that's a bunch. Phyllis
