    2. Barbara Kesterson
    3. HARMON, FORREST L., 91, of Copeland, FL., passed away on October 14, 2007. Born September 22, 1914 in Sulphur, KY., he was the youngest child of George and Mary (Molly) Harmon. A child of the Depression, he started working with only a sixth grade education. Living with various relatives after his father died, Forrest worked on farms, in tobacco factories and with the L&N railroad. During World War II, he was employed by the Tennessee Eastman Co. in Oak Ridge, TN., with the Manhattan Project. By the end of the war, he had worked his way up to superintendent in the process engineering department. After the war, he went into business for himself owning gas stations, tire distributorships and restaurants. He also owned a farm where he raised registered Black Angus cattle. In the early 50's, Forrest bought and transported 278 pre-fabricated homes from Oak Ridge to Paducah, KY. The development of the small town of Forrestdale included a post office, elementary school, grocery and movie theater. He also developed subdivisions in Stanford, KY and Galena, IN. After visiting south Florida for many years, Forrest moved to Collier County in 1961 for the warm weather and the snook fishing.
