    3. Clinton Courier April 7, 1955 Body Of Former Andersonville Man Found A body found floating in Fort Loudon Lake last Sarurday has been identified as that of J.C. Rutherford, who formerly resided at Andersonville, Sheriff Joe Owens said. a sister, Mrs. Clyde Longmire, lives at Andersonville, and a brother, Glenn lives in Morristown. Rutherford, 61, lived at the Watauga Hotel in Knoxville. An autopsy revealed that death was caused by drowning. He worked part-time for the Services Bonding Co.in Knoxville, and Knox County Coroner Carl Hickman said he had been "despondent" for some time and had threatened to take sleeping pills or jump in the lake.

    3. Clinton Courier July 17, 1985 Paul "Moon" Mullins Dies Former Clinton developer Paul "Moon" Mullins died in West Palm Beach,Florida July 9, the victim of apparent murder. Mullins, 56, was reportedly found at his home with his hands tied and may have been strangled. West Palm Beach authorities have the case under investigation. Mullins reportedly split his time between residence in West Palm Beach and Knoxville, and was scheduled to leave for Knoxville at the time of his death. Mullins lived with a former wife, Meredith Smith, at the Florida residence, but she had left for a conference in San Francisco prior to Mullins death. Mullins had also been married to Alberta Mullins of Clinton, with whom he had four daughters. The funeral was Friday at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, and burial was in Anderson Memorial Gardens Saturday. Mullins is survived by his daughters, Karen George, Jan Mullins and Gina Mullins, all of Clinton, Ginger Mullins of Nashville, four sisters, Madeline Everest of Dallas, Texas, Effie Poore of Detroit, Michigan, Mildred Pierce of West Palm Beach and Winifield Karall, Vevay, Indiana, brother, Clyde Mullins of Half Moon Bay, California, thre grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He had been in declining health about five months, a grandson said.He had retired from Magnet Mills in Clinton and had farmed for several years. Silvey was born in the Wheat Community, now part od Oak Ridge, to the late W.F. and Ida Phillips Silvey.He moved to Anderson County as a child and lived in Clinton on Howard Street before moving to the Black Oak Community. He was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church. A brother, Leonard Silvey preceded him in death. Clinton Courier July 17, 1980 Author And Ex-Teacher Dies At 87 Mrs. Beulah Brummett Braden, 87, of Athens,Ga., died Saturday afternoon at Heritage Center Nursing Home there,where she had been a patient for three years. She was the author of When Grandma Was A Girl, a book about early life in Anderson County published as a Bicentennial project in 1978 by the Clinton Courier-News and the Oak Ridger.Mrs. Braden was once a teacher at Shinliver and Andersonville Elementary Schools.She lived in Knoxville for many years and was a resident of Westmall Nursing Home in Oak Ridge until it closed in 1977.She was a member of Longfield Baptist Church of Lake City and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Braden enjoyed genealogy, sewing and quilt making. A native of Lake City area, she was the daughter of the late John and Lurana Duncan Brummett. She attended the University of Tennessee,Knoxville. Her husband, Wiley F. Braden, died in 1924. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. J.Aubrey (Rosslyn) Smith of Athens and Mrs. Owen (Billie) Killeen of Oak Ridge, and a grandson, Patrick Killeen of Martin.Funeral services were held Tuesday at Berry Funeral Home chapel in Knoxville with Dr. Kenneth C.Hubbard officiating.Burial was in Mt.Oliver Cemetery.

He had been in ill healthfor 15 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Lee was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church and the Disabled AmericanVeterans (DAV). He was a native of Crossville. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Evelyn) Bullock of Centerville,Ga.,Mrs. Vernon (Betty) Jacks of Lake City, RT.2.,a son, Calvin Wesley Lee of Lake City,Rt.2, three sisters, Mrs.Irene Ford andMrs. Ruby Cumby of Crossville and Mrs. Reba Womack of Tullahoma and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at Beech Grove Baptist Church with the Rev.Kenneth Seeber and the Rev. William Thomas officiating. Burial was in Pleasant View.
