    3. Clinton Courier Sept. 14, 1972 Patterson Dies Friday At His Home Allen Patterson, 63, was found dead by his wife about 6 p.m. Friday when she called him for the evening meal. The home is at Clinton Rt.2. Patterson had worked as an employee of the State Highway Department until June when he retired. He also worked at Oak Ridge as a security guard and at Beech Grove as a coal miner. A native of Campbell County, he moved to his area 31 years ago. He was a member of Clinch River Baptist Church where he took an active part in the church. He often encouraged others to attend church. Patterson leaves his wife, Mrs. Carlie Perkey Patterson of Clinton, two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Dabney and Miss. Mary Lena Patterson, both of Clinton, a son,Thomas Allen Patterson of Auburn, Ala., two granddaughters, Janet and Barbara Dabney of Clinton, and a grandson, Robert Dabney Jr. of Clinton. Services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Clinch River Baptist Church with the Rev. George Delozier and the Rev. Hugh McMillian officiating. Burial was at Blowing Springs Cemetery.

Clinton Courier Sept. 14, 1972 Roy Hansard Steel Foreman Dies Sunday Roy Edward Hansard, 48, a steel erection department foreman of Watson Erection Co. of Knoxville died at 10:40 a.m Sunday.He suffered a heart attack at his home in the Medford community at Lake City Rt.1 and was dead when taken to Oak Ridge Hospital. He had served in the Armed Forces during World War II. Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant View Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Hall and the Rev. Jack Taylor officiating.     2. I remember a Miss Maggie Phillips....They lived in 10 Row in Devonia. There were 10 houses in a row..hence the name. They were down by the creek. Maggie always wore jeans back then and had hair down to her waist but her mother braided it and she kept it under a hat. She was friendly with my mother.
