Hello Geri, It seems as if you may have hit the jackpot on the Griffith name. There are four entries for that surname. There aren't any entries pertaining to the surname WRIGHT, though. The GRIFFITH entries are shown below. I haven't edited them in any way, so the entries are just as they are shown in the book. I hope you find some good information in them. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. Sincerely, Stan Magnesen ROOTWALKER site/list coordinator ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Taken up by Jno F Griffith one Muly Bull with dark Brindle head & sides with dark Legs & white Back & Belly & white tail marked with a crop off the right Ear & a swallowfork in the Left Apd to $2.50 15 Jany 1835" ********** "Taken up by Jonas Griffith one black & white spotted barrow without any ear mark supposed to be 4 years old Appraised to $2.00 14th Decr 1837" ********** "STRAY HORSES AUGUST 5th 1818 Taken up by Samuel Grifith one bay mare nine years old about 14 hands high a scare on her oft shoulder valued to twenty dollars 21 day July 1818 $20.00 Transmitted 1 of August Publish $20" ********** "ESTRAY HORSES JULY 9th 1827 Taken up by Jno Moore on the Rock Island road 5 miles south of the white plains 2 mares one sorrel 14 hands 3 inches high 13 or 14 years old both hind feet white some saddle spots Appraised to Twenty five Dollars $25.00 Also one bay mare about 15 1/2 hands a star in the fore head branded with T C on the near shoulder and some saddle spots supposed to be about seven years old appraised to 30 March 1827 $40.00 Provened away by Probate filed in Jonas Griffith Trustee office" ********** In a message dated 5/1/01 6:48:26 AM Pacific Daylight Time, Hardtown2@aol.com writes: > Subj: [ROOTWALKER] Jackson Ranger Book Look-up/Wright & Griffith > Date: 5/1/01 6:48:26 AM Pacific Daylight Time > From: Hardtown2@aol.com > Reply-to: TN-ROOTWALKER-L@rootsweb.com > To: TN-ROOTWALKER-L@rootsweb.com > > Are there any enteries for the surnames of Wright and Griffith? > Thanks > geri > >
