    1. [ROOTWALKER] Re: Genealogists
    2. Hello Deborah and everyone else, Vanessa and I have discussed this and really don't personally know any paid genealogists to refer you to. We do realize that some people feel it is necessary to hire someone to give them a hand, and there are some excellent researchers out there awaiting their business, but again, we just don't know anyone personally that we can recommend. I will caution you about hiring researchers that you don't know. Please, please, please communicate with them in extent BEFORE signing on the dotted line. I have talked to a number of what I call "Pay for Play" "genealogists" in our research and while doing research for others. There are many, too many, of these well meaning people that, in my opinion, don't really know what they are doing, taking wild and wide leaps of faith, guessing, and speculating about the family histories of others. I had one person, a late-twentyish lady, tell me that "If somebody wants something, I'LL find it!" Hogwash! If it isn't there, how are you going to find it?.....I can't recommend her, by the way. Well, I believe that's enough negativity on my part! Just be careful about those Con-men and Con-women out there, please. If anyone has knowledge of a paid genealogist that may be able to help Deborah, please contact her off list in order to protect the privacy of the third party or parties. We thank everyone in advance for any helpful information you can send Deborah, and thank all of you for being the ROOTWALKER family. Good Luck!
