    3. With regard to the transcription for Thomas Batson the South Side Cousins book on page 328 lists him as Thomas Hatton Batson, Jr. The wife and children are the same as in your transcription. Thomas Hatton Batson, Jr. and Zachariah (my great-grandfather) are brothers along with 8 other siblings. They are sons of Thomas Hatton Batson. Evidently Thomas is an old family name in the Batson family so it can get quite confusing. Dianna

    3. Dear Dianna, Oops! I had a senior moment! I had it in my mind somehow that the 1880 census data was 1900 census data. Now that I've straightened my head out, it is obvious that it's Zachariah's brother, Thomas. Thanks for your feedback. I found the 1900 census data for this Thomas also ... he was a widower and two of his daughters and their husbands were living in his household. Let me know if you want transcription details.
