    1. [ROOTWALKER] Re John Webb
    2. Sam Webb
    3. Hi My name is Sam Webb and my ggg grandfather is John Webb. He is also my brickwall. I cannot find where John Webb came from or what his mother's or father's name was. I found John Webb and his wife Martha in the Bedford Co. TN Enon Baptist Church Meeting Minutes in June of 1829. I found where he married Martha Patsy Landrum on Jan 15, 1811 in Williamson Co. TN. John died in 1834/1835 while living in either Bedford, Rutherford or Williamson Cos. TN. An old Family Bible stated John died in Indiana while on a hunting trip? I also found where John Webb gave his brother-in-law Merrimon Landrum. Power of Attorney (POA) on July 1, 1811 in Rutherford Co. TN to settle his wife's inheritanced from her father's Reuben Landrum's estate in Union County SC. I visited that area this year in Feb.and found the Father's Will and John Webb's name was mentioned but no middle initial. I have Martha's family back to Scotland and her mother's family Ray back almost as far, but I can't find John Webb's roots. Martha died on Feb 11, 1842 leaving several minor children. She is buried in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church near Rockvale TN. I have the marriage records for the Webb's and the Landrums in the Early Middle TN Marriages . I was able to determine that Anjline/Angeline Webb was living with her uncle, Rev. John Landrum in the 1850 Williamson Co. TN Census. I found where an Elizabeth Webb married a Benjamine Halstead in Williamson Co. TN in 1837. My gg grandfather Lewis E. Webb married Susan Adaline Halstead from that same family in Henry Co. TN on Sept 16, 1852. I found a Mary Webb marrying David C. Little in Williamson Co. TN on July 12, 1835. I found RebeccaWebb marrying John Woods on June 29, 1845 in Rutherford Co. TN. I found a John F. Webb married to a Sarah C. Landrom/Landrum Feb 12, 1844 in Rutherford Co. TN. This could possibly be a John F. Webb Jr. I found a Nancy E. Webb married to a William Hailey on Nov. 25, 1853 in Rutherford Co. TN. Rebecca Webb Woods above, later had a daughter she named Nancy Ellen Woods. Nancy Woods' twin brother was named Lewis E. Woods after my gg grandfather Lewis E. Webb. I suspect the Nanch E. Webb that married the Wm Hailey was a d/o my John Webb. I found a Emaline Webb marrying a Simpson Putnam/Putnamn on Jan 22, 1845 in Rutherford Co. TN. There are Putnam's buried in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery where Martha Webb is buried. I have several other candidate children but not enough info yet to establish a strong tie to the John and Martha Webb's family. I found by working the 1820,1830, 1840, 1850, 1860 Census for Webbs some clues for the subquent children but need more Census Data. Mainly 1870, 1880 and 1890?/1900 for the Webbs in the three counties of Bedford, Rutherford and Williamson and 1850- 1900 Census data for the Landum's in these same three counties. Any help you could give me would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Sam Webb [email protected] ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, April 10, 2002 12:25 PM Subject: [ROOTWALKER] Test (no need to reply) > no mail last couple days....just checking to make sure I'm still subbed... > > kymm > > > ==== TN-ROOTWALKER Mailing List ==== > ...from the moutains, to the prairies, to the oceans white with foam, God Bless America! > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > >
