    3. No, I live in FL but I will be in Henry Co. this summer. I subscribe to the Henry Co. mail list. My great great aunt Webb Woods and her husband John Woods were in Henry Co. during the 1850 Census and my gg grandfather was then 20 and was living with them. Two years later he married Susan Adaline Halstead in Henry Co.TN. About 1853/1854 both families migrated to Ballard Co. KY. near the Hickman Co. KY line. This area of Ballard Co. later (1886) became Carlisle Co. KY. and 4 generations of Webbs are buried there. I go back every summer to spend a few months. Paris TN is about 90 miles from my home town of Arlington KY. We will be stopping in Rutherford and Franklin Co.s in May on the 15 and. It was quite a thrill to find my ggg grandmother's grave site a couple of years ago in the Mt Pleasant Cemetery. We went to her home place in Feb this year in Union Co. SC. We found a town in SC named after her nephew John Gill Landrum. We stopped at the local news paper in Landrum SC and met the owner (91) and he spent the day with us showing me a lot of grave sites and even sold me a book he had written about "Who and Why of Landrum SC., 29356". He had written 7 books. The wife and I enjoyed the trip very much. We did some good Genealogy work in Union Co. SC at the local library in the town of Union SC. We found several grave sites at the Padgett's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery for the Ray's. Martha Patsy Landrum's mother was Mary Ray a sister to the famous preacher Tommy Ray. The Landrum family is well documented in the book " The Life and Times of John Gill Landrum" which was written by H. P. Griffith and published by Cooper-Limestone Institute on March 14, 1885. I still am unable to trace down John Webb's family from the first documentation in Williamson Co. TN. when he married Martha Patsy Landrum in 1811. My resent finds on the children will, I hope, lead me to determine where John Webb came from if I can follow their lives to the 1880 census where they tell the birth state of their parents. Rebecca Webb Woods stated in the 1880 Ballard Co.KY Census that her father was born in KY and her mother in SC. Her brother my gg grandfather Lewis E. Webb stated in the same Census for Hickman Co. KY that his mother and father were both born in TN. We now know that Rebecca was right about her mother's birth state. Rebecca was 11 years older than Lewis. Lewis was only 4 or 5 when his father died and only 12 when his mother died. I am betting that Rebecca was right about her father's birth state. Last August I attended a Webb Family Reunion in Jasper TN (their 27th) and found out that 4 brothers from VA. went to KY and then turned south into middle TN. One of the brothers had a John Webb about the right age born between 1781 and 1790 per the 1830 Rutherford Co.TN Census. This family of Webb's settled near Bolingreen, KY. I will do some research there this summer if time permits. It is possible that John followed his uncle's into middle TN around 1806. A John Webb shows up in the Williamson Co. Poll Tax about then. This is also about the time that Merriman Landrum, his wife Delilah Jackson, his sisters and two of his brothers settled in Williamson Co. TN. I did not find where my John Webb bought land until 1811, the year he got married to Martha Patsy Landrum. I am constantly pursuing genealogy. My wife's people were found in Co and Henry Co. Tn during the 1830-1860 time frame. If you can find census data for both Benjamin and James Housden/Houston/Housdon during this time period I would appreciate it. I am sorry for typing so much for you but it is good for me to get so detailed to summarize where I am and what I should do next. Thanks again, Sam and Linda Housden Webb ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, April 10, 2002 9:59 PM Subject: Re: [ROOTWALKER] Re John Webb > Do you live in Henry Co.
