    1. [ROOTWALKER] Woodbury Baptist Church - Reply to Sherrie.
    2. Good morning Sherrie! Do I detect a little excitement in your typing? Dr. J. G. PATY is mentioned only one time in the "Woodbury Baptist Church Records, 1888 - 1906" book. The entry about Dr. J. G. PATEY is dated June 23, 1888, and mentions him and his wife as visitors and that they are from Smithville, Tennessee. The index of this book spells the name as "PATY" but the text of the book spells the name as "PATEY." I don't know which way he actually spelled his name. Nothing else is said about Mr. PATY in this book. As to Mr. C. B. ODOM. (Aren't there a lot of ODOM family members in Wilson County?) Mr. C. B. ODOM is mentioned in the same entry on June 23, 1888, as Mr. PATEY, and is the next name on the list of visitors after Mr. PATEY. Since this list of visitors is not alphabetical, I am wondering if these two men weren't next to each other in this meeting. The next name on the visitors list is Miss Nannie ODOM. Is she kin to C. B. ODOM? The second item that mentions Mr. C. B. ODOM is not dated but falls between items dated June 9, 1889, and July 13, 1889. Mr. C. B. ODOM is mentioned as having been placed on a committee to arrange a program for an upcoming Salem Association meeting to begin on the Friday night before the fifth Sunday in September 1889. This meeting was held at the Sycamore Church. There is nothing more about Mr. C. B. ODOM in this book. Is there anyone else I can look up for you from this book? Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. God Bless America! 3. Thank you so much.....did the blurb give John Gaylon Paty's wife's name??? I do not know it. There is only one living person in my tiny family that even remembers J.G. Paty. She is in her 80's and J.G. and wife sent her a scrapbook when she was a child. Other than that he is a man of mystery. After leaving, suddenly, TN in the 1890's I stumbled on him selling real estate in Louisiana in 1900. Crazy!! Then all tracks are totally lost of him and wife other than this 1st cousin of my father's (his ONLY cousin too) that got a scrapbook. The scrapbook may have been mailed from St. Louis, MO. I can find no records of him in MO. So---excited to find him? You bet...any tidbit will do. I thank you so much. Yes, Cantrell Bethel (C.B.) and Nannie Odom are related. I do not have my data in front of me but if my memory services me right they are father and daughter. My father is a double Odom. C.B.'s one daughter married a Paty who begat my grandfather. The other daughter was mother to a gal that married a another Odom and they begat my grandmother. What a mess!
