Good morning everyone, We have a book in the ROOTWALKER library titled "Hickman County, Tennessee, Deed Book B, 1811 - 1813" that we would like to offer lookups from. This book is 162 pages of great information about properties that changed ownership during the early days of Hickman County, Tennessee. I see many familiar Hickman and Dickson County names in the index of this book. Hickman County, Tennessee, was formed in 1807 from lands that were once part of Dickson County, Tennessee. This area of Dickson County, Tennessee that became Hickman County was once part of Montgomery County until the formation of Dickson County in 1803. In 1819 part of Hickman County was taken to form Perry County, Tennessee. Lands were taken from Humphreys County to make Perry County, also. Part of Hickman County was later taken to become part of Lewis County, Tennessee. If you have family roots in any of these counties you may be interested in a lookup from this book. If you aren't sure if you had family in this area, don't hesitate to ask for a lookup, we'll be happy to see if there is any reference to your kinsmen in this book. (Sometimes a shot-in-the-dark pays off!) Please ask for lookups for only one name at a time. Many of these records are quite long and will take some time to read and summarize. You can, of course, ask for as many lookups as you need, but please ask for only one at a time. We hope we are able to provide you with answers to many of your family questions with information found in this book. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. God Bless America!
