Stan, Received the following from TSLA: "He was born October 1, 1845 in Hickman County, Tennessee, the son of Green and Mary (Chamness) Pickard. He attended school at Marion, Alabama. He served as a Colonel in the 24th S.S. Battalion C.S.A. He also served as Comptroller of the State from 1883-1889, and Director of the U.S. Census for the 6th Congressional District (1890)." Rsp.
