In 1985, he and my MaMaw went to the court with the family bible in hand and the woman who served as midwife by my GrandMother's side on the kitchen table..... and in 1985, my father got a birth certificate. Makes me wonder how he served in the Navy during WWII. Suppose he needed a birth certificate in order to retire.
