Hi Stan and Joe, I noticed my ancestor's name, Henry Ayres, come up in the conversation and then went online to the Robertson County Archives and found a marriage between John Ayers and Fredonin Frey in 1852 in Robertson County. Henry and Susan Ayres had a son John born about 1810, but I don't know if this is him or a grandson. Maybe this is the connection between the families that explains why Henry Frey signed the pension application for Henry Ayers.
