Hello Susy, I have heard of the Bell Witch all my life, too. The story of this scorned lady was among the scariest stories I heard from my grandparents and parents as a child. The stories of Bloody Bones, Saucer Eyes, and the Headless Horseman, along with legends of ghosts of soldiers and Indians from battles long ago have pretty much faded in my memory, but the tales of the Bell Witch live on. I once did some timber work in the area of Adams, Tennessee, and the property we were working on was reported to have been part of the old Bell plantation. We were told that part of the Bell Witch cave ran under the woodland we were working in. It was very difficult to even see a tree when some of those stories came to mind. I think of that, as well as many of the stories of the Bell Witch whenever we go through Adams. I'm sometimes very glad that Hwy. 41 is, in my opinion, one of the better roads to drive on in Tennessee, just in case. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family. God Bless America!
