    1. [ROOTWALKER] Elizabeth Jackson
    2. Hello, number one thank you for writing me back..........My ancestor Elizabeth Jackson was born in Amelia, Virginia in 1785 and we are to believe she lived an extremely long life, dying in 1893 in Chambers County, Texas. Even if that is wrong and she died 10 years younger that still made her one long living lady. I'm sure she probably died in Double Bayou, Texas. This info is from my cousin from his grandmother's old paper work. All of our information comes from old family papers, collected through the years and it is this relative that I work for at the Wallisville Heritage Park Museum, Wallisville, Texas. She married Garner Mayes, his birth is 1774 in Amelia, Virginia, and they were married in Knoxville, Tennessee June 6, 1808. As you can see, we have quite a bit of info, but it is so hard to go back and be absolutely positive on the exact group they came out of. These are such old families and I know when I find a Jackson or a Mayes family in Amelia, Virginia that it makes sense that they are related and especially when the names are the same, but isn't it a hair-puller to put the exact pieces in the right spot. When Elizabeth and Garner got married they lived in Williamson Co., Franklin, Tennessee and moved to Texas somewhere around 1838..We have land grants dated 1839 in Texas, but supposedly you had to be in Texas 3 years before to date......Also Garner had land in Travis Co., Austin, Texas before this other land in Chambers County, Texas. Well, sorry to bend your ear so long, but I appreciate your help. Thank you Virginia
