Hi Stan, Thanks for trying on the Lawrences. I already had the information from the Friendship Cemetary and they are part of the same family I am sure. My Great Grandfather, James Lawrence married a Law who lived on what is now McMurtry Lane right on the county line of Trousdale and Sumner Co. The farm is still in the same family as one of my grandpa's sisters married a McMurtry and they lived there. I also know about the limited records in Macon Co. That is why I came to you for help. The story goes that James Lawrence migrated from Virginia to Macon Co. but all the other Lawrences have been found in Sumner and Robertson Co. The reason I am trying to find the marriage record between James or Samuel and Mary Matilda Law was to see if it showed his parents names. I don't believe the William that you found could be right since the marriage took place in 1823. James was supposedly born around 1810 in Va. and he had children born in 1839, 42,44,47 and 35.
