I got that information from several places, but the only one I can recall off hand is from the "Civil War Service Records" database on Ancestry.com. The records are stated as being pulled from National Archives Record Group 109 microfilm series M253. The soldier is listed as H.W. Davis, alias Henry. I found elsewhere (and I think from you too?) that parts of the 50th, and I think Company E itself, were recruited in Montgomery County. That is where my Henry W. Davis was born and raised. A distant cousin in Adams, TN also found something on microfilm at the local library for this person, but it doesn't shed any light as to whether this person is my Henry, or really anything else abut him. The top of a few of these tall narrow documents say "Company Muster Roll". I'm not sure what the others are, but they are also tall narrow documents, like strips of paper. A lot of these documents fade to black at the top, like they were filmed badly, possibly out of a book? Any help is appreciated. Shelley Davis Osborne Proud To Be An American!
