Hello Shirley, We could not find any Macon County records prior to 1901, except some town records for a couple of the communities in Macon County, Tennessee. Macon County was formed in 1842 from lands taken from Smith and Sumner Counties. Is it possible that James and Mary were wed in one of these counties?
