Good Morning Jenny, Do you mean an index of people whose death certificates are on record with the state of Tennessee? If so, the answer is yes. The state of Tennessee has kept death certificates since 1908, except for the year of 1913. These are indexed by the year of the certificate being recorded and are not made public unless they are 50 years old. For example, the death certificates for 1952 have just been made available to the public. You can, if you have the death date, get a death certificate for later years from the state of Tennessee if you are doing genealogical research on your family by contacting the State and paying a small fee. You can find a little more about the death certificates and the index of them at the following addresses: http://www.state.tn.us/sos/statelib/pubsvs/death2.htm Index to Tennessee Death Records 1908-1912 http://www.state.tn.us/sos/statelib/pubsvs/death.htm Partial Index to Tennessee Death Records 1914-1925 You can also find more about death and birth records at: http://www.state.tn.us/sos/statelib/pubsvs/vital3.htm TSLA: Tennessee History & Genealogy: Birth & Death Records We hope this answers your questions.
