James B. Cross I am trying to find out this man's earlier lineage. In the 1850 Tn. census he is listed as a carpenter and married to Cynthia born in Tn. In other sources I've found her maiden name to be Wright. I read the biography of James William Cross and saw the name Bolling which is the same name as in the Pocahontas genealogy. James and Cynthia Cross are my GGgrandparents. Their daughter Ophelia and her husband Zachariah Batson are my Ggrandparents. Their son Burnie and Agnes are my grandparents. Their son Louis Ray and Ruth Batson are my parents. I am trying to find out if I have Cherokee heritage as well as being in the lineahge of Pocahontas. This is reported on p. 191 of SOUTH SIDE COUSINS with no proof or reference. Any information would greatly be appreciated.
