Fellow Listers, This is my first post to the list. I hope that I am doing it correctly. For 3 years I have been trying to solve 2 mystery's. The first is Rilla Carmack this is her married name. She is the wife of Josh Tench Carmack originally from Overton Co. TN. The first time I found Rilla it was in the Jackson County 1860 TN. census, living with husband Josh Tench Carmack. District 8 of Cumberland page 79. House No. 543. Post Office is listed as Buck Paint. Josh Carmack age 23 b. TN, Rila Carmack age 24 b. TN., Harriet Carmack age 4 b. TN. George Carmack age 2 b. TN., and William Carmack age 1 b. TN. The 1870 Jackson County Census is District 16 page 7. House No.52. Carmack, Parlira note the age is off on Parilla but children's ages are correct Harriet age 14 b.TN. George W. age 12 b. TN. William age 10 b. TN. Amanda age 8 b. TN. J.William age 6 b.TN. Nancy age 4 b. TN. John age 2 b. TN. Note there are 2 William's and Josh Tench Carmack is missing from the household. I have searched the images in Overton and Jackson so far he is not found. The 1880 Jackson CO District 6 page 29 house no. 229. Carmack Rila age 45 b. TN. Wilburis or Wilburn it is hard to read age 16 b. TN. and Nancy Carmack age 14 b. TN. I have tried to find clues as to who Rilla might be by searching the 1850 Census in Jackson, Overton, and Fentress Co. 3 possible Rillas all from Overton Co. Parilla Murphy eliminated because of Will of father Joseph G. Murphy. The will did not name Rilla or any of her children. The second possible Rilla was Corilla Draper but the 1870 clearly has the first initial of Rilla's first name as a P. Leaving the last Parilla found Parilla Dukes daughter of Hiram Dukes and Kizzah Dukes in 1850 Overton. This is all the inf. that I have on Rilla. We are unable to find any further info to try and confirm what Rilla Carmack maiden name is. The second mystery woman is Anna Boles wife of John Boles. First found in the 1870 Jackson Co. District 16, page 6 house no. 43. John Boles age 22 b. KY. Anna Boles age 22 b. TN. Martha B. age 1 b. TN. Found again in 1880 Clay Co. 7th Civil District page 4 house no.33. This time census states John Boles was born in TN. 1900 Clay Co. TN. 7th Civil district, sheet no 6. House No.113. Census states that both Anna and John were born in TN. Any and all help on Anna would be greatly appreciated Thanks Trish
