    1. [ROOTWALKER] Polly LAWRENCE
    2. Good morning Shirley, We are delighted that we are allowed the opportunity to help you. Let's see if we can find anything in Sumner, Trousdale, Robertson, or Macon Counties in Tennessee that you can find useful. In the book, "Red River Settlers," there is reference to Polly LAWRENCE. Polly married a man named Robert MURPHEY, who was the son of George MURPHEY, senior, and Elizabeth (?), his wife. Robert passed away in 1826. Robert and Polly had several children as shown below: 1. Elizabeth (Wed a BLANKENSHIP man) 2. Elias (Passed away in 1862) 3. Joseph 4. Carroll 5. Rhoda born in 1824, died in 1862, (Wed a WHITEHEAD man) 6. Robert. born May 20, 1827, died March 17, 1882 I don't know if there were any other children, but these are referred to in this publication. In 1872, J. C. and W. C. MURPHEY, sons of Robert MURPHEY (#6, above,) founded a general store at Adams Station. One year later, J. C. sold his share in order to persue an education. In 1876, J. C. opened another general store in Adams Station. J. C. married a young lady from Robertson County named Mettie FUQUA on December 26, 1876. Mettie was born July 25, 1856 in Robertson County, Tenn., and was the daughter of Samuel and Eliza FUQUA. >From the information shown me in this book, it is a good possibility that J. C. was married prior to his marriage with Ms. FUQUA. There is reference to a J. C. MURPHEY tying the knot with (Mary E.) ENGLAND on Feb. 15, 1855, at the home of J. F. ENGLAND in Robertson Co., TN, by J. F. COOK. There is a line of what I assume are descendants of J. C. Murphey. If you are interested, I will send that list to you. We do hope you find this information useful. Thanks for being part of the ROOTWALKER family.
