    2. Hello Nita, Yes, there is a Henry Ayres listed in the book. Henry and Susan Ayres lived in Robertson County because Henry got a pension for service in the American Revolution of $80 per year. Henry served in the Virginia Militia from 1776 for three years, plus a previous enlistment of 12 months. Henry died April 22, 1833. Henry and Susan were wed in North Carolina in 1781 by publication of Bonds. They were married in Surry County, NC. in Jan. 1781. Susan declared her age to be 81 years old on August 7, 1843. Susan and Henry were known to have lived in or around Spartanburg, South Carolina in 1785. Henry applied for his pension when he was 79 years old. This was August 14, 1832. Henry lived in Bedford Co. VA, when he enlisted in the army. Henry and Susan were assumed to be Methodists. The above is the highlights of what is shown about Henry and Susan Ayres.
