    1. [ROOTWALKER] EDWARDS and LOVELACE surnames in "Red River Settlers."
    2. Howdy Dot! You should know by now that we are DELIGHTED to help you! There are two references to William EDWARDS in the book, "Red River Settlers." In the first reference, William is identified as a Revolutionary War soldier living in Robertson County, Tenn., when he filed an application for pension on August 12, 1837. These papers are on file in the National Archives, Revolutionary Pension Division, file R-3263, William entered the army in Chatham County, NC. William married a lady named Rebecca Brewer. The marriage was on July 25, 1777, in Chatham Co., NC. They had three children but no names are given. The three children were born during the American Revolution. William was 77 years old when he applied for pension. John Edwards of Simpson Co., Ky, is the brother of William. There is no reference to Larkin EDWARDS. There are no references to any of the LOVELACE family. In the second reference to William EDWARDS, is a list of Revolutionary War veterans who drew pensions. William is identified on the list of 1832 at 82 years old. He served with the Virginia Line in the American Revolution. We hope this is some new and exciting information for you.
