Stan, My Alsups went into Tennessee from Virginia after the Revolution. I know for a fact they were in Davison County in July of 1802 when he married Sally or Sarah Locke Robertson. By 1813 they were in Giles County where their son Moses Locke Alsup was born. They next lived in Lawrence County and by 1823 they were in Hardeman County. They spent some time in Madison county and in 1844 they were in Davison County before they went to Missouri in 1844. They were very adventurous and were right at the forefront of the Western expansion. The names Locke, Robertson, Coates, Shelton and McIntosh are names that appear regularly in the Alsup line and these families also lived in Tennessee. I am particulary interested in finding the Locke and Robertson connection to the Alsups. John C. Alsup and his wife Sally Locke Robertson Alsup both died in 1844 in Greene County Missouri. Moses Locke Alsup, their son, married Patsy Martha Grant, daughter of James Grant. She was born 3 March 1811 in East Tennessee. She and Moses Locke were married 24 Jan 1834 in Madison County Tennessee. I would like to hear from anyone with connections to these families. Pat Alsup Hardman
