My Smith origins in TN begin in Davidson County (Polly Heaton, daughter of pre-statehood pioneer Amos Heaton), go to Sumner (Polly marries William Smith, son of Thomas Smith of Sumner) and end up in Smith County (Polly, William, their son Josiah & his family are buried near New Middleton).
